This four star award winning guest house is situated near the famous
city walls, in a quiet cul de sac only 10 minutes walk to the city
centre, train station, and racecourse. It is perfectly situated
for you to enjoy a relaxing stay in one of Europe’s most beautiful
and historic cities, whilst also being an ideal base from which
to explore the Dales, North York moors and heritage coastline.
Our nine bedrooms, two of which are situated on the ground floor,
offer exceptionally high standards of comfort and cleanliness, assuring
you of a good nights sleep. Five of the rooms are ensuite, whilst
the remaining four have vanity units in the rooms, and share two
bathrooms.
In order to prepare you for a day of exploring historic York and
its’ surrounding beauty, you will be served a memorable breakfast
in the cosy dining room.
The Farthings prides itself on a delicious Yorkshire breakfast,
including locally sourced produce, and is a member of The Deliciously
Yorkshire Breakfast scheme. Sample our extensive buffet menu which
includes fresh fruit salad, croissants, muesli, yoghurts and porridge,
followed by a full English breakfast or lighter option if preferred.
